Please Note : As of October 12, 2020 the Visiting Scholar Oversight Committee will consider exception requests to process invitations for new international visiting scholars for arrival no earlier than May, 2021. Otherwise, the Florida State University temporary suspension of new international visiting scholar applications announced March 3, 3020 remains in place. We will continue to review this temporary suspension as conditions change. Please contact Stephen McDowell, Assistant Provost (firstname.lastname@example.org), for more information.
International visiting scholars and employees enrich Florida State University's community. The Center for Global Engagement appreciates the opportunity to assist university departments and international scholars and employees through immigration support, pre-arrival information, and cultural programs.
PROSPECTIVE SCHOLARS: Invitations to spend time at FSU as a visiting scholar and offers of research or employment are initiated by the host/employing department. The inviting or hiring unit will compile the documentation the CGE requires in order to assist with the appropriate visa classification. Prospective employees who already have employment authorization valid for FSU employment, will not need CGE immigration assistance.
You can find general information about visa classifications as well as other information pertinent to living in Tallahassee through the links on the left menu.
INCOMING AND CURRENT SCHOLARS, RESEARCHERS: CGE scholar advising staff are available to assist you and your department with immigration support. Use the links on the left menu to find general information about visas and useful information for your stay at FSU.
