Meet the New Global Exchanges Outreach Intern

Aman Myrsten, a double major in business-focused French and sociology, spent the Spring 2026 semester at Griffith University on Australia's Gold Coast through FSU’s Global Exchanges program. After returning from her exchange in Australia, Myrsten has come full circle as the newest Outreach Intern for the Global Exchanges team at the CGE.

Myrsten chose to go on an exchange program as a way to continue her academic studies while fully immersing herself in a new culture. Drawn to Australia's strong academic offerings, diverse travel opportunities, beautiful beaches and unique wildlife, she found Griffith University to be the perfect fit for her goals.

While in Australia, Myrsten embraced experiences that pushed her beyond her comfort zone. From solo travel and hostel living to hiking and skydiving, she developed greater confidence and independence while forming lasting friendships. "While these experiences taught me so much about myself and about independence, it was the people I shared the memories with that made them so special," she said.

Now serving as the Global Exchanges Outreach Intern, Myrsten helps students explore exchange opportunities through marketing initiatives, administrative support and information sessions. Having recently completed her own exchange experience, she enjoys sharing firsthand insight with students considering participating in an exchange program. "An exchange can seem daunting at first, but it truly teaches you so much about yourself and offers opportunities personally, academically and professionally that I could have never gotten without it," said Myrsten.

Reflecting on her journey, Myrsten describes both her exchange semester in Australia and her role with Global Exchanges as transformative experiences. "Going on this exchange, and now working with the Global Exchanges office, has been one of the most incredible and impactful experiences of my college career," she said. "I encourage anyone who is considering an exchange to take the leap, challenge themselves and go out and see the world!"

Students interested in learning more about Global Exchanges are encouraged to start the process early and attend an info session with Myrsten. Info sessions are on Tuesdays at 12 p.m. or Fridays at 1 p.m. in Globe Room 2300 (GME Building). Applications for Fall 2027 and the 2027-2028 academic year close on February 1, 2027, while applications for Spring 2028 close on August 1, 2027.
