FSU Students Show Growing Enthusiasm for Global Exchanges in 2026

Fifty-five students applied to participate in an FSU Global Exchange for Summer, Fall and Academic Year. This includes 23 applications for Summer, 26 applications for Fall and six for Academic Year placements. This is about a 50% increase across all terms, reflecting rising enthusiasm for global study opportunities. The increased interest in exchange programs is due to the addition of several highly ranked universities in popular destinations such as Madrid, Paris, Tokyo and Seoul.

The top destinations for summer applicants were Waseda University in Japan, University for Foreigners of Perugia in Italy and Seoul National University in South Korea. The top partner universities for Fall and Academic Year applicants were IE University in Spain, Kyung Hee University in South Korea and University of Strasbourg and MICEFA in France.

The Global Exchanges team is currently conducting a thorough review of all applicants for each exchange partner institution. This process will continue through March 1, after which students will be notified of their selection status and may then begin the host-university application process.

The CGE invites any FSU undergraduate students interested in a Global Exchange to attend an info session and schedule a meeting with a Global Exchange advisor. The next upcoming deadline is August 1, 2026 for Spring 2027 exchanges. Since the application process takes several months, students are encouraged to start planning now for Spring 2027 exchanges.
