CGE Student Spotlight: Diego Serrano

Diego Serrano
Global Exchanges Student
Bachelor's in Chinese, Concentration in Business

Diego Serrano, FSU alumnus with a bachelor’s degree in Chinese, completed his Global Exchanges at Fudan University in Shanghai, China during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Serrano was inspired to participate in a Global Exchange to improve upon his Chinese language skills. “I wanted to study abroad because I knew that would be the best chance I had at experiencing the Chinese language and culture firsthand,” he said. Many exchange students invest themselves in a new culture, broaden their global perspective, and enhance their foreign language skills.

Global Exchange students can learn about themselves while expanding their worldview and networks. “Studying abroad in China had a lasting effect on me," Serrano said. "All the new experiences I went through helped me learn a lot about myself. The friendships I made, the unforgettable memories, and the challenges of being on my own in a foreign country have all challenged me for the better and I could not be happier with my decision to partake in the program."
