FSU undergraduate students can register for Global Perspectives, the foundational course for the Global Citizenship Certificate (GCC), on October 12 when registration opens. In the course, students explore global issues and develop intercultural communication skills while meeting several of FSU's liberal studies requirements.

New international student Seif Eldeen Aldahiyat from Jordan was one of 352 new international students from 70 countries beginning their studies this fall with FSU. Aldahiyat said one of the main reasons he chose FSU was the amazing reputation FSU has nationwide. Due to the global pandemic, only 29 new students received visas to enter the U.S., 47 FSU graduates started new degree programs, and 105 students transferred to FSU from other U.S. institutions. An additional 171 of the newly admitted international students for fall began their studies from their home countries.

Develop intercultural competencies and increase global awareness by enrolling in the 12-credit Global Citizenship Certificate (GCC) for undergraduate students. GCC is designed to foster global-readiness and demonstrates to future employers that you are prepared to work in a globalized workforce.

The CGE hosted our traditional International Coffee Hour virtually every Friday from 5–6:30 p.m. on Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic to help everyone stay connected and continue to engage in intercultural learning opportunities.

The CGE’s Virtual International Coffee Hour showcased 47 unique recipes from around the world with multicultural Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) and international students, serving approximately 2,000 participants this past year.

Beginning Friday, March 20, all administrative offices at FSU will be closed but providing services remotely, due to the COVID-19 emergency.

The Center for Global Engagement staff will continue to provide services for international students and departments, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm but our building will be closed.
