Nadia Vital Maffo, graduating senior from Italy pursuing her bachelor’s degree in international affairs, is a star athlete on Florida State University Seminoles Women's Track & Field who has won numerous championships while maintaining a high GPA.

This fall the Global Citizenship Certificate (GCC) doubled the number of Florida State University students engaged in enhanced global learning by expanding its Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) partnership from the initial partnership with The Technology College of Americana (FATEC) in Brazil to include three different campuses at FATEC: FATEC Americana, FATEC São Caetano and FATEC Praia Grande.

Hanya Noussier

Hanya Noussier, FSU senior from Egypt pursuing her bachelor’s degree in advertising, believes that increasing diversity and inclusion within higher education institutions is more important now than ever.

The Provost’s Latin America/Caribbean Merit Scholarship provided five new international students from Bolivia, Brazil, Jamaica, Panama, and St. Maarten with scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Through this scholarship, the students receive a scholarship of $500 for one or two semesters and classification as a Florida resident for tuition purposes, during the semesters(s) of the scholarship.

FSU students interested in studying internationally through Global Exchanges can maximize their experience by planning in advance, sometimes beginning a year to a year and a half before departure. The next deadline to participate in a fall 2021 or 2021-2022 academic year exchange is February 1.

Samuel Ajayi, Ph.D. student at FSU pursuing his doctorate in physics, passed his written Ph.D. Qualifying Exam within a year of admission, which students usually take after completing the second year in the program.

Recent FSU graduate Aws Al-Taie has been selected as the head of his branch within the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Technology (UoT) in Baghdad, which is the equivalent of a chair of a department at FSU.
