Engage Your World collaborates with Tiffany Rhynard for the screening of her documentary Forbidden on Thursday, March 22, at 5:30 p.m. in the Askew Student Life Center. Rhynard is one of the 10 recipients of the 2017-18 President’s Diversity and Inclusion Mini-Grant Awards.

This film illustrates the intersection of queer and immigrant issues and addresses the realities facing LGBTQ minorities who have grown up in the rural south surrounded by white faces and homophobic attitudes.

Join us for a panel discussion after the screening. Panelists include the documentary’s protagonist Moises Serrano, Director Tiffany Rhynard, the Director of the Center for Advancement of Human Rights Terry Coonan, and Miguel Hernandez from the Center for Leadership and Social Change.

This event counts toward the Global Citizenship Certificate as an educational intercultural event.
