- Intercultural Courses
The Center for Global Engagement in collaboration with FSU's International Affairs Department provides academic courses aimed at helping students maximize their global experience and increase
- Theory and Practice for Global Engagement IFS 2070/2052
The course is designed for students planning to engage abroad whether to study, intern, volunteer or do research. The class aims to introduce students to the concepts, theories, functions and behaviors
associated with intercultural communication. Throughout the course students will increase global awareness and cultural adjustment skills, interpret their cultural identities and learn how to effectively
use intercultural communication during their global experiences.
- Applied Global Experience INR3931/3932
This course is designed for students who have recently returned from abroad experiences. Students work through successfully adjusting back to your lives in the U.S. and FSU, learn how to identify
cultural learning gained throughout their global experience, as well as learn how to market their experiences to potential employers and graduate programs.
- Global Perspectives INR3932/3931
This course aims to introduce students to the basic foundations of intercultural communication principles and theories. Students learn effective cross-cultural communication skills through a variety
of in and out of classroom activities.

- Global Partner Certificate
The Global Partner Certificate is a Center for Global Engagement (CGE) professional development initiative designed for FSU faculty, staff and graduate students who are interested in improving their intercultural communication, knowledge & skills and awareness and becoming more globally competent. This certificate recognizes an individual’s commitment to understanding and appreciating cultural diversity at FSU. To earn the certificate, participation in 4 workshops and 3 approved cultural events is required.
