2010 Global Photo Contest

2nd Annual Global Photo Contest - open to all FSU students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Winners will be announced on November 15th during the International Education Week Opening Ceremony. The winners will also have their work displayed in the new Center for Global and Multicultural Engagement Gallery "Reflections" during International Education Week, and throughout the building. Some of the winning photos may be used in FSU publications.

Deadline for entries: Monday, October 25, 2010 by 5pm.

OFFICIAL RULES

WHO MAY ENTER?

3 CATEGORIES:
  1. FSU International Students, Scholars and Faculty (photographs MUST be taken WITHIN the U.S. borders)
  2. FSU Study, Service, Volunteer or Intern Aboard Students (Photos MUST be taken OUTSIDE the U.S. borders)
  3. FSU Faculty, Staff and Alumni (Photos MUST be taken OUTSIDE the U.S. borders)

WHAT MAY BE ENTERED?

FORMAT:

Print: Entries must be in print format. Image size must be 11" x 14" (although the paper may be larger). Suggestion: You may want to use 300 dpi to get a better print quality.

SUBMISSION PRODEDURES and FORMAT:

Entries must be accompanied by the official Entry Form, fully completed and signed by entrant.
A separate entry form must be completed for each photograph submitted.

Winners may be contacted and asked for more information about the winning entries. Such additional background information might be incorporated into such things as contest displays and later publications.

COPYRIGHT POLICY: Rights are retained by the artist. By signing the entry form and submitting it, however, entrants are agreeing that they grant the Florida State University and the FSU Center for Global Engagement royalty-free use of submitted photographs in displays and in print and electronic publications. The artist will be fully credited in all such displays and publications.

JUDGING CRITERIA: Entries will be judged on the quality of the image, artistic expressiveness, and creativity, global and cross-cultural representation. Judges also reserve the right to consider geographic and thematic variety, as well as relevance to the mission of the FSU Center for Global Engagement, in selecting the winners. All decisions of the judges are final. The competition organizers reserve the right to disqualify entries which do not conform to the stated contest rules and criteria.
