F-1 Status Students
F-1 Advising
The Center for Global Engagement is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
We recommend that you make an appointment to see an adviser. While we have walk-in hours, they are on a first come, first served basis and are for general advising
questions only. Appointments ensure that your adviser has ample time to help you with your more specific questions and concerns.
To make an appointment, please call the front desk at 850-644-1702.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I need to see an advisor to turn in my request or application (for extension, CPT, OPT, dependent, etc.)?
No, unless you have specific questions that only your adviser can answer. Otherwise, such requests or applications can be submitted to the CGE front desk where your general questions can be answered.
During walk-in hours, can I see any adviser?
As much as possible, it is preferable that you see the adviser assigned to you. If this is not possible, we will try to accommodate you based on the advisers' schedules.
Why can't I make same day appointments?
Your advisers set aside time during the day to process your requests, to attend meetings at the office or outside of the CGE or to serve on committees. Advisers try to plan their daily work and same-day appointments prevent efficient planning and organization.
I know walk-in hours are on a first come, first served basis, but what if I have an emergency? Can I be seen first?
Every student's concern is important. We have to treat all students fairly.
