Brooke Slade, a biology major and one of five spring 2018 Global Citizenship Certificate Scholarship winners, is participating in an exchange program in Austria this semester. Brooke decided to participate in this exchange to immerse herself in Austrian culture while studying at the University of Salzburg.

“This scholarship has made it possible for me to participate in this exchange by helping me cover some of the costs of travel, living, and tuition,” Slade said.

Undergraduate students who are enrolled in both the Global Citizenship Certificate and the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society and who have been accepted into a Global Exchange by March 1* may apply for the following scholarships by April 1.

  • $1,000 – Global Exchange (fall)
  • $500 – Global Exchange (summer)

Spring 2018 scholarship winners include the following FSU students:

  • Ayanna Camara (Beyond Borders Germany)
  • Karly Kajy (Global Exchange to University of Strasbourg, France)
  • Jorge Mejia (Beyond Borders Germany)
  • Brooke Slade (Global Exchange to University of Salzburg, Austria)
  • Daschichka Streeter (Beyond Borders Jamaica).

Global Exchanges provide students with a unique and affordable opportunity to study at one of 40+ international partner universities in 20 countries all while paying FSU tuition, earning FSU credits, and using financial aid.

A Global Exchange fulfills the sustained experience requirement for the Global Citizenship Certificate and the international engagement area requirement of the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society.

Interested students should visit cge.fsu.edu/globalcitizen for more information and application details.
